Uncle Sam Craft Project
Are you ready to start making this fun patriotic craft? Follow the steps below to begin!
Step 1.
Once you have collected your supplies, start by cutting your paper plate in half. Depending on the age of your child, you can do this for them, as some paper plates are tough to cut through. Or you can let them do it themselves.
Step 2.
Use one-half of the paper plate to make a mustache. Then cut it out!
Step 3.
Next, get out your paint and paint an arch on the other half of the paper plate. You can trace the arch on the paper plate for your child as a guideline as to what to paint.
I like using acrylic paint for this. However, if your child is younger, I recommend using washable paint!
Step 4.
While your paint is drying, we are going to start making Uncle Sam’s hat. Start by cutting three strips of red paper. And one strip from the blue paper. Assemble them together by gluing the three red strips vertically to the white paper.
Then glue the blue strip horizontally over top. It should look something like the one below. Once that is done, attach the paper with glue to the back of the paper plate.
Step 5.
Cut two small circles from the red paper for his cheeks and glue them to the paper plate. Then use a marker to draw on his eyes. You could also use googly eyes if you have them.
Step 6.
Lastly, attach his mustache, and there you have your paper plate, Uncle Sam craft!
