Supplies Needed for Your Egg Carton Penguin Craft
Before jumping into this penguin craft, let’s review some basic materials you will need. Most of these items can be found in your home, at a local craft store, or on Amazon.
If you don’t have an item on the supply list, adjust as needed.

Instructions for Making a Penguin Egg Carton Craft:
1. Cut Out Egg Cartons
Start this craft by cutting out individual cups from the egg carton to form the penguin’s body. If you’re crafting with younger kids, I recommend pre-cutting the materials or using kid-safe scissors to make things easier.

2. Paint the Penguin’s Belly
Paint a white oval on the front of each cup to create the penguin’s tummy. Kids can use a small paintbrush for better control, and washable craft paint makes cleanup simple. Set the cups on a protected surface and allow them to dry completely before adding the remaining penguin details.

3. Paint the Penguin’s Body
Once the white paint has dried, paint the rest of the egg carton cup black. Then allow the paint to dry completely.

4. Cut Out Feet
Grab your construction paper and cut a small orange triangle for the beak and two orange foot shapes.

5. Add Googly Eyes
Glue two googly eyes onto the top front of the penguin.

6. Glue on Penguins’ Feet and Nose
Finish by gluing on the orange beak just below the eyes. And the orange feet to the bottom of the egg carton cup so they stick out in front.

- A cozy winter story – Snuggle up and read a penguin-themed book together for some quiet time after crafting.
- Arctic sensory play – Set up a simple bin with “snow” (like rice or cotton balls) and let your penguin join the adventure.
